The new blog from the Galeria Susan has a new blogspot for the gallery , so that you can now buy online work from the gallery. It is still in the process and will be completed shortly. it's called offthewallgallery.blogspot.com you can still see a video of the gallery and of Alte by clicking the relative area.
Artists in Galeria Anna Knoop has returned to the Netherlands for the summer but will be returning in Sept to start anew with her very popular felting classes. The beginner classes will still be held at Galeria Off the Wall and advanced classes at Anna's home.Petra is here with ongoing all day classes in the art of mosaicing. They are a great success, with women going home with finished articles or ongoing work to be done at home.There is new exciting work by my daughter Aimee, who has been creating fantastic dichroic jewelery, pendants, brooches and earrings. She will be offering a class in jewelery making when she comes out soon from the UK. The gallery has been experiencing a bumper Spring with many visitors as well as returning clients who are in the throes of decorating their houses, apartments or villas.Despite the incredibly wet weather we are having, people are flocking to Alte and finding the gallery and loving the warm, welcoming atmosphere.
New Artis and events in Off the Wall Galeria, Alte The gallery is having a special opening for the photographer Mel Sewell and his photographs of the Algarve. It will be on May the first at around 6 pm. Many people have been invited and there will be many artists that are represented in the gallery on hand. Wine and food will be served. There are new artists in the gallery and new works by artists who have been with the gallery nearly from the beginning, a year and a half ago.It's looking very colourful and the atmosphere is wonderful, very welcoming.There are classes every Thursday, in the art of felting. That has taken off and is so successful for felting artist Anna Knoop. It's an age old craft that has caught on again and very popular. Amazing what you can make from felt! There will be open days here in the gallery for the people who want to continue developing their expertise as Anna has to return to Holland til Sept. She will continue her classes here, and at her house for the more advanced classes.The mosaic classes are available to join , with Petra, our talented teacher. They have been so successful, with people finishing a project that day or doing larger works at home. They are taught all the basics they will need to create a pot or line a pool! The classes are on Wednesdays, just give us a call at the gallery at the gallery 289 478 027 to sign up for the exciting all day class or just get some information on what's going on.Hope to see you at the opening. The last day of festivities are going on in Alte that day and evening, so come join the fun !
News Mosaic classes with Petra Kartak will be starting next week ! She will be offering one day tuition for beginners, min. 2 people, max 3 people so that they can enjoy undivided attention.You can bring your own lunch or join us at Agua Mel for a lovely light lunch. Coffee and teas and biscuits will be served at the gallery as well. Dutch-English- Portuguese- German spoken. The cost per person will be 50 euros for the all day courses starting at 9;30 til 16:30 Wednesdays. Materials will be included unless they are larger or more expensive items. Call the gallery for more information. Come join us for a really enjoyable time learning the basics of Mosaics ! Another artist , Anna Knoop , will be teaching classes in felt making. Anna's brilliant , colourful, amazing silk and felt creations have been in the gallery a very short time but she has become one of the best selling artists here. I find her work so exciting that I am sure many women will want to learn how she creates these beautiful pieces.She is starting with a beginner class on Thursdays, from 14;00 -17:00 . The cost includes all materials and coffee and cakes. She will teach 2-3 people at one time so that everyone gets individual attention. She will also introduce an advanced class which will include lunch , from 10:00-17:-00 for 55 euros. T: 289-478027 CRAFTY ART CLASSES to start at the gallery, for people who never considered themselves able to create anything in their lives!Carol Watts has developed several easy , step by step art projects that will be going into her book and is willing to impart her skills to anone who would like to stretch themselves and learn a new perspective on art.
